Honkers
Empty flight from Heathrow, had 3-4 seats each, so great to stretch out. Quite turbulent, lots of seatbelt sign on-age and off-age. An hour or so before landing the pilot tried to drop us out of the sky – must have hit an air pocket. Lots of screams!
Arrive Friday 5pm in torrential rain. Met Warrick at airport express station in Central. Massive Q for cabs. Got all the major gossip over and done with whilst in the queue!
Had dinner in a Thai restaurant, ‘Chedi’. Then had strawberry daiquiris in a secret hidden place called ‘*******’ (must find that out!). They were DELISH. Jetlag meant I stayed awake from 3-6am.
Went to Stanley Market until 3pm, when the heavens opened again and continued on well into the night. This meant that lunch in ‘Bacca’ turned into an all-dayer with a vast amount of sangria drunk by me and Mads! Secrets were told and arguments were had – I’d love to have been a fly on the wall and replayed it back the next day! (Others ha blown off dinner – El & Aimee were sick, B couldn’t be bothered!)
Sunday 20th May
Hung-over. Brunch at Staunton’s, back to W & Mads to watch ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’, ‘Walk the Line’, their 4 minute Wedding montage, ‘American Pie 2’ and some other film with Drew Barrymore!
Monday 21st May
Mads and I get the Star Ferry (from the new terminal) to
Tuesday 22nd May
Guess what? More rain but nice and warm. Went for a fab pedicure: white leather sofas to sit in, sinks in the floor, tv’s to watch and a free manicure! T’was great: nice scrub & dig for toe-jam. Browsed shops, had a spot of lunch then got a cab to cousin Clare’s. Dinner in with Clare, Vic and Jake. Scrabble and bed. Slept like a baby.
Wednesday 23rd May
Went to meet B for lunch but she blew me out, so shopped instead. Met Edward & Stephanie (work) for coffees. Caught MTR and bus back to
Thursday 24th May
V. hot (33 degrees). Great views from El’s. Played on the Wii and jumped on the back of El’s bike round to Clare and Colin’s. All go for lunch in
